L'Oreal's Revitalift Miracle Blur

L'Oreal's Revitalift Miracle Blur is an “instant skin smoother” that works to give a more even appearance to rough skin by filling in lines and wrinkles, minimizing the look of pores and even hiding blemishes.
I use it almost daily, and it is a great little product that actually does just what it promises to do. Like most of us, I have some problem areas that I am always looking to conceal, or at the very least, reduce their appearance, and the Miracle Blur does just that. One thing that I really like about it is that a person can use it just by itself for a lighter, more natural look, or, because it does smooth out the rough sections, makeup can be worn over it. Essentially it acts almost like a filler to give any additional layers a smooth base to start from.
Another thing that I really like about this is its long life. A little bit goes a long way, and though I do not use it every day, I do use it several times a week, the one 1.18 oz tube has lasted me almost 3 months.
If you are like the rest of us, and have some imperfections you would rather the rest of us not know about, I would suggest trying this out. L'Oreal's Revitalift Miracle Blur can be found at lorealparisusa.com, Ulta Cosmetics, and in most department stores, and in my opinion, the $18 - $25 price is well worth it!

The Everything CC Cream

Today I am reviewing The Everything CC Cream by .em Cosmetics, which is a tinted concealer that corrects mismatching skin tone while at the same time filling small imperfections.
When I tried it out, I was surprised at how light weight it is, and soon forgot that I was wearing anything at all. For me, most makeups feel like an extra layer has been added and I can feel added weight and my skin almost feels choked, but with the Everything Cream, I did not have this sensation.
I have tried it both by itself and with my normal makeup over the top, and I found that both work equally well, but prefer it alone as it does its job; a person does not need additional makeup as is sometimes the case with a foundation.
If you have an area of skin that you feel should better match the surrounding area, or have small wrinkles or scars and don't like the way concealers sometimes feel, then I would recommend .em's Everything CC Cream. You can find it at emcosmetics.com for $23.00.

Window to the Soul Collection

Stila recently announced that they have a new logo and packaging, to be released with their fall collection. The new logo is three intertwined S's to go with the theme of smart, sexy and sophisticated. I was given a chance to try one of the eye-shadow palettes and fell in love with their blend of new colors.
The one I selected was the from the new Window to the Soul collection, and of the 4 choices of colors, I went with the Body, which lists gives 12 colors based on gem stones such as Pink Diamond, Aquamarine and Midnight Quartz.

The other collections are: Soul, which is a palette of 12 colors in matte, shimmer and various neutral shades. The Mind collection features 12 matte colors, and the Spirit is a”best of” collection featuring some of Stila's original shades over the past 20 years.
Stila uses only the highest quality ingredients, making application smooth and worry free, with 10+ hour dependability. Each color blends nicely, and it is easy to add multiple layers to pull off more sophisticated looks. The vibrant colors stand out, contrasting nicely with themselves so one can pull off multiple looks without being repetitive or bland.
When I wore this to work, all of the ladies asked me what I was wearing, so I passed the case around, and even they were impressed with the range of colors available and the quality of the eye-shadow. If you are interested in getting your own, these palettes are available at Sephora, Ulta,Nordstrom and at stilacosmetics.com for $49.00.

Exuviance Depuffing Eye Serum *sponsered*

Today's review is on the Exuviance Depuffing Eye Serum, which is a roll on gel that helps to eliminate the look of the “bags” we sometimes get under our eye, from either lack of sleep, stress or natural puffing. I tried it out and was able to see the results almost instantly. I was a bit surprised at how much the three roller balls massage the area while dispensing the formula. When it goes on, it almost feels cold, which for me is a sure sign that something is happening, some kind of reaction as the skin absorbs the product. The roller balls, combined with a blend of antioxidants, work together to improve blood flow and to increase drainage, reducing the build up of fluids as it is applied to the skin.
In just minutes after putting it on, I noticed that the heavy bags under my eyes were not as noticeable, and when I pressed my finger gently into the area, it did not feel as puffy as it was before I applied it. After using it twice a day for a week, the puffing and lines around my eyes were no longer noticeable, and I found that I did not need the concealers I normally use.  I think this is a great product, and one that does exactly what it says it is going to do. If you are interested in trying it out yourself, look for it at Ulta cosmetics for $72.00

Coming to America!!!!

Hey Lovelies,

I am so EXCITED to announce the stateside launch of international makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury’s eponymous collection is finally here! The line will launch online first next week, September 2, and then Charlotte is partnering up with Bergdorf Goodman in New York and Nordstrom in Los Angeles at The Grove for MASSIVE launch events in early October, and rolling out in major regional markets with Nordstrom through November.

Charlotte is considered one of the biggest makeup artists in the world. She counts Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Sienna Miller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Gisele, Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Eva Mendes and more as clients, and is beloved by industry insiders from models to photographers and designers who all consider Charlotte their go-to. Charlotte has built her brand upon an empowering message for women that stems from her own personal mantra: “give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world.” She’s a believer in the power of makeup and how it can change your life—after discovering mascara at 13, she built the confidence and belief in herself to make up her own destiny and write her own future.

“Beauty is not an exclusive club – there are no unattractive women, just some that don’t know the power of make-up,” says Charlotte Tilbury. “I was shocked to find out that 50% of women do not engage with make-up and the reasons are: they don’t know how to use it, they don’t know what suits them, they don’t have the time. I wanted to revolutionize the retail experience for these women. Even as a professional makeup artist, I walk onto the Beauty Hall floor and want to run in the opposite direction.  There’s so much choice and so little direction, help and problem-solving and I wanted to set my brand apart from this.”
Charlotte has taken the wealth of knowledge she’s amassed thanks to her 20+ years in the industry to create a range of skincare and cosmetic products based on Hollywood icons and celebrities to take the guesswork out of shopping the makeup counter. All of her products treat and transform, so they have skin benefits whilst making you look beautiful. To make the counter experience easier on consumers, Charlotte created 10 signature looks which are the iconic looks she recreates time and again on celebrity clients such as Kate, Penelope, Gisele and Rihanna. These looks are inspired by past beauty icons (Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Bo Derek) and their modern day counterparts. While you can purchase products individually, you can also walk up to the counter and purchase a full look (e.g. The Rock Chick or The Uptown Girl) and get all the products you need to deliver coordinated eyes, cheeks and lips – so that choosing and creating an expertly finished look is totally seamless.

**********
The range will be launching online first with CharlotteTilbury.com, Nordstrom.com, BergdorfGoodman.com, Net-A-Porter.com and BeautyLish.com, and will take NYC by storm on October 7 at Bergdorf Goodman. Charlotte will be hosting a master class with consumers in the morning teaching all the beauty looks she’s famous for and that afternoon will host a cocktail party to celebrate the launch with her celebrity friends, industry insiders, and consumers. As part of the Bergdorf launch she’ll also be unveiling the first-ever beauty specific windows for Bergdorf Goodman!

After the NY launch event, Charlotte will travel to Los Angeles where the line will take over Nordstrom at The Grove with a beauty festival for consumers on October 10 and 11. Celebrity friends will make appearances and there will be lots of fun, interactive elements such as: lipstick readings; facial mapping; a “Turn Back Time Skincare Bar” where you can learn the 5 steps to looking 5 years younger, learn how to contour your face AND body, etc. Launch events will also be hosted with Nordstrom in other major markets including Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Orange County, Washington D.C. and Las Vegas through Spring 2015.

Charlotte’s Magic Cream Treat & Transform Moisturizer, $95
Magic Cream is a miracle-working moisturizer that instantly turns around tired, dull, dehydrated skin that Charlotte has been using and perfecting for years backstage at shoots and shows. Charlotte calls it a push-up bra in a jar! The unique, oil-rich formula fights the aging process on all fronts and is packed with a mix of breakthrough and proven anti-aging ingredients, plus a touch of Charlotte’s magic, to flood the skin with moisture, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and transform a dull complexion into luminous, glowing skin. A mix of oils and Vitamins A, C and E transform dull, grey skin into mirror-like shine.

Tilbury Tip: Use Charlotte’s patented “Pro Collagen Wonder Workout” to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Simply blend the moisturizer up and out over the cheeks like angel wings and then, using a light but firm pitter-patter motion, tap in the cream across the forehead, down the nose and over the chin. This increases micro-circulation for youthful luminosity. Magic Cream can also be used to fix makeup mishaps. Just dip a Q tip in to remove any dropped eyeshadow, fix a feline flick or tidy up mascara.

Wonderglow Instant Soft-Focus Beauty Flash, $52
This cross between an anti-aging elixir and a complexion-enhancing light diffuser gives your skin an instant “spotlight” effect so you look lit from within. Powered by a breakthrough Fluorescent Core Light Diffuser that cleverly steals UV light from its surroundings and re-emits it as skin luminosity, this instant pick-me-up disguises and transforms drab, sleep-deprived skin. A dream for tired, dull and hungover skin! Collagen boosting peptides and patented wrinkle-preventing ingredients are fused with light-reflecting microspheres that fill in wrinkles and scatter light to blur away lines and flood skin with luminosity.

Tilbury Tip: Use Wonderglow underneath foundation, on its own for a relaxed, effortlessly dewy look, or on top of makeup through-out the day to give your skin an instant pick-me-up.
Filmstar Bronze & Glow Face Sculpt & Highlight, $65
This wonder compact has a universal bronzer that is the perfect blend to contour the skin and enhance facial framework, and an ultra-flattering highlighter that leaves skin looking like it’s dripping in candlelight. All this is wrapped up in a covetable compact inspired by the elegance and glamour of a 1920’s cigarette case. The colour-rich pigments are rolled into elastomer pearls that smooth & buff the skin for excellent blendability & perfect colour uniformity. This compact is the answer to women who are scared of the idea of contouring—it’s the secret to creating a slimmer, sculpted face that silver screen sirens have kept to themselves for years.

Tilbury Tip: Want to cheat killer cheekbones and a defined jawline? Simply dip a precision brush into the natural Sculpt shade, suck in your cheeks, and follow the hollow. Paint along the jawline for a defined chin and jaw, and on the temples for that sun-kissed glow. Dust the Highlight shade on the top of the cheekbones, down the nose and on the cupid’s bow for a lit-from-within radiance and a slimmer, sculpted face.

Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara in Glossy Black, $29
Charlotte is a mascara obsessive and used to cocktail up to five mascaras to get the effect she desired (curl, volume, separation, length and drama). Full Fat ticks all boxes – it curls, separates, lengthens and adds volume and drama for full, fluttering bambi lashes. This is the perfect way to cheat that false lash effect, all year round. The specially-designed laser cut brush picks up even the smallest of lashes for a larger than life flutter.

Tilbury Tip: Always curl lashes before using mascara. It’s like a push up bra for the eyes. Also, you need to layer mascara for full effect! Use at least three coats and lift from the root to elongate and thicken.
·         CURL: the 5-grooved brush deposits the optimal amount of mascara right in the lash line, pushing your lashes up and out
·         SEPARATION: the fine-tipped bristles catch every lash, no matter how short or fine, coating them in black brilliance
·         VOLUME: the glossy black formula creates voluptuous, outrageous lashes that don’t drop onto your cheeks
·         LENGTH: the maximum bristle count covers every lash to the very tip
·         DRAMA: the 5 star brush creates a 3-dimensional flutter, buildable for maximum drama – for that “individual falsies” multi-layered effect

Rock ‘N’ Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil, $26
The eye liner to end all eye liners. Revolutionize the way you line your eyes with Charlotte’s statement liquid eye liner in a pencil. Inspired by the ultimate, rock chick “bedroom eyes,” Rock ‘N’ Kohl boasts the silky smooth glide and accuracy of a liquid liner with the soft, sooty, pigment-rich result of a kohl and sets for up to 14 hours, so you can rock all night and still keep your kohl on! Available in Bedroom Black, Barbarella Brown, Veruschka Mink, Elizabeth Violet, Marlene Midnight, and Eye Cheat—a nude-colour waterline pencil to create the illusion of bigger, brighter eyes.

Tilbury Tip: For a more dramatic feline shape, drag the line down in a v-like shape to the lower lash line. This will give you more of a feline look.
